One of our favorite places to go for a weekend trip is Starved Rock State Park up in LaSalle County. It is less than 2 hours away and such a nice escape. Andy and I went for our 1st anniversary trip a few years ago, and then last year we went with the Clers on Columbus Day weekend. We decided to go again that same weekend. This year since the kids are older, there was so much more fun to be had. Our hotel had an indoor water park, so the guys and Anna and Emmet had a blast going on the slides. It was pretty dark in there, so it was hard to get clear pictures.
Anna wasn't ready to go on the slides right away, so Andy just walked around with her to check everything out first.
Here they are on her favorite slide. At first she sat on Andy's lap, but eventually she just slid right next to him. She kept pointing at it when they got to the bottom, so they went on it a good 25 times.

Emmet had lots of fun too!
I couldn't believe I caught both of their eyes in this picture. I was pretty far above them.
They both slept great that night and Anna had some great bedhead going on!
The next day we went on some trails in the beautiful park.
And finally lunch at our favorite restaurant, The Nodding Onion.
